Interview with Osvaldo Barsky

Abstract

Osvaldo Barsky is one of the leading names in Higher Education in Argentina and Latin America. Originally from the economic sciences, he has a Master's degree in Rural Sociology from the Latin American Council of Social Sciences (CLACSO) and a National Public Accountant and Expert Expert from the National University of Rosario (UNR). From FLACSO Ecuador had a role in the development of Andean agrarian sociology. He is also an expert in Pampean agrarian studies. In the 1990s he was a member of the Postgraduate Accreditation Commission -CAP- and since then he has produced various and significant studies in the field of Higher Education. He is a Principal Investigator of the National Council for Scientific and Technical Research (CONICET) and a postgraduate professor at the Latin American Faculty of Social Sciences (FLACSO) and other national universities. He is currently Director of the Center for Advanced Studies in Education of the Inter-American Open University (UAI) and of the University Debate Magazine, consultant to national and international organizations.
In his extensive career in researching educational processes and changes in higher education, his contributions have pointed to the understanding of educational and scientific-technological systems and are characterized by an always critical look and a permanent questioning of dogmatic positions.
